Why a Men's Shed?

Statistically, after retirement or loss of a partner, men lose touch with friends and colleagues and are inclined to become isolated. Working on practical projects with a group of similar-minded men can help combat this. A Men's Shed provides the facilities for men to come together to provide help and support to themselves and others and to make a contribution to the community. 

Our vision:

To alleviate loneliness and have a positive effect on the health and wellbeing of older men in Newport, Madeley and the wider Telford area.

Our mission:

To provide a safe, friendly environment , with well-equipped facilities, where men will meet to enjoy their hobbies or learn new ones, make friends and enjoy each other's company.

Our values:

By common endeavour we will welcome and support each other to do our best to fulfil our need for friendship and companionship. We will always treat each other with respect and integrity. We will value each other's individuality and need for independence, but look to build a good team spirit and contribute to society. We will pass on our skills and knowledge.
